Which quadrature method does the command Integral use? Is it Simpsons rule or something else?

FYI that is the reference cited in the References section of the documentation page for the integral function.

Vectorized Adaptive Quadrature method has been used for the implementation of “integral” function in MATLAB. Please refer the mentioned journal “Vectorized Adaptive Quadrature in MATLAB” by L.F. Shampine for more details.
