orientation of a point w.r.t a line in a image

how can we determine the orientation of a point which lies on any line in a image.please suggest me any solution .. thanks in advance

I assume it the question gets clear, if you post a meaningful example by editing your original message - not as comment. Please explain the available inputs and the wanted outputs. do you have the coordinates of the "point" or do you have to search a stain in the pixels of the image? How is the "line" defined? By coordinates or is it drawn onto the photographed object? What does "orientation" mean? "right"/"left"? If so, the result changes if the image is rotated - how can you define it uniquely then?

A point does not have an orientation. In consequence it cannot be determined.
