I am having ridiculously slow computing issues using Matlab 2014b on my Macbook Pro with the new 10.10.1 Mac OS X Yosemite install (specs: mid-2012 15in Macbook Pro, 2.3 GHz Intel Core I7, 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM).
Here's a basic script I'm trying to run...
I have a 227x1040x1392 matrix of type double of some Calcium imaging data (227 slices). I want to normalize each slice by the max value to put into the range of 0 - 1, and am reshaping the matrix into 1040x1392x227.
for jj = 1:227
C(:,:,jj) = squeeze(A(jj,:,:)) / max(max(max(A(jj,:,:))));
end
Simple enough command. My only open applications are Matlab and the Activity Monitor. I am running at 91.9% CPU, Matlab itself is using 5.38GB of RAM. My physical memory is maxed out at 4GB and virtual memory is at 11.38GB.
Note:
Has anyone run into similar slow computing issues for 2014b and Yosemite?
