trainYOLOv​​2ObjectDe​t​ector validation option

I am training a yolov2 model for object detection. Is there any way to validate the model with validation data ?

I am using MATLAB R2019a.

Hello Andrea,

I assume that you’re looking to specify validation data to validate the network at regular intervals during training.

In MATLAB R2019a, the ‘trainYOLOv2ObjectDetector’ doesn't support validation data in training options i.e. you cannot specify validation data while creating the options object using ‘trainingOptions’ function, for training the network. Refer to this documentation where details about unsupported options in MATLAB R2019a is mentioned.

Validation Data in training options is supported in MATLAB R2020b and further releases. I suggest you to update to latest version of MATLAB to use this functionality.
