Is it possible to extract the line based finger vein features using Directional Wavelet Transform??????

I doing my research in biometrics,, here i want to extract the finger vein lines .. how to extract the line based features.. these lines ( considered as features ) are mainly used to identify the person.. is it possible to extract the lines in the finger vein using Directional Wavelet transform.
