testing of system identification process?

I defined a transfer function. s + 2 --------------- s^2 + 13 s + 30 then want to give 10 input using "rand" function , e.g [1.2 2.3 4 ....] collect the output data for each 10 input . then cross check the model with ident tool. I would like to know how to give input to the TF model and collect the out put data..

You can use the lsim function to simulate the transfer function under some external inputs you specify.

EDIT: There is also a compare function in System Identification Toolbox if you want to compare the data with the identified system.
