Simulink Coder for MATLAB Home

I am software engineer student and bought MATLAB Home with Simulink few days ago for learning MATLAB Simulink and generating C++-Code from a model. Finally I found out, that the Home edition doesn't include Simulink Coder, but it was no description from MATLAB, that Simulink Coder is missing in the Home edition.

Now MATLAB is useless for me, what can I do.? I am still student, but I will finish my study this year, therefore I decided to buy the Home edition...it seemt to be a very big mistake, because I spent 225 Euro for nothing.

Can anyone give me an idea, what can I do?

Everything fine. I called the MATLAB support today and it is possible to refund withih 30 days. So I will buy now the student version with the Simulink Coder and everything is perfekt :).

You can ask for a refund; refunds for Home licenses are accepted up to (if I recall correctly) 7 days.

Some of us has been pushing Mathworks for a number of months to make these restrictions clearer.

I have been pushing Mathworks for a couple of years to make more products available under the Student and Home licenses, even if that means pricing them at full commercial price (or even higher!) -- at least then they would be available. There are internal complications; I have not been told all of them, though.

You are right, that Simulink Coder was not on the list, but finally I was thinking, that the Simulink Coder is included in Simulink. I didn't look at the full or student version, so I didn't know, that Simulink Coder is a additional product.

In the information of Simulink (for Home edition) is standing, that code generation in C++ is possible (see image). This information is definitely wrong for the Home edition.

There is no support for Home edition, do you know, where I can ask for a refund?
