Hello I am trying to modeling the forces between a docking adapter for a boat, the dock is installed with a receiver, and the boat is installed with a hitch. To simplify, I have used a solid sphere to model the tip of the hitch in the beginning, and tried to use extruded solid to recreate the receiver. The problem is that the ball won't penetrate through the open areas in the receiver, it just bounces off as if there was an object there. Is there a better way to model the receiver, I will attach the setup in simulink as well as a picture where ball floats in thin air.
