- The Default User Account Control (UAC) Settings could be causing the issue. The Microsoft Access Driver on your computer might be running with elevated permissions due to the default UAC Settings. This could be allowing any user to access the database without authentication.
- The ODBC driver is ignoring the username and password: Some ODBC drivers may not use the username and password for authentication, but instead use the operating system credentials of the user logged in to the client system.
- The database does not require authentication: It is possible that the database has been set up to allow anonymous connections, so the username and password are not required to connect.

Hi. I have created an ODBC database using microsoft access and set "admin" as username and password but with any password and username it is possible to connect to the database. What is the reason ?
I have set following username and password in ODBC configuration window:
username = 'admin';
password = 'admin';
But with any username and password I can connect to the database. For example:
datasource = 'dbdemo';
username = 'Test';
password = '1234';
conn = database(datasource,username,password);
