Hi there,
I have managed to successfully add Matlab Grader with Blackboard. Although the LTI tool works as expected in Ultra course view it does not seem to work with Original course view. In original course view you see Matlab Grader launch and the student can submit but as soon as the Submit button is clicked you get this error message "Your grade could not be recorded. The gradebook could not be reached. Try resubmitting in a few minutes. If the problem persists, contact the instructor." And does not save the Grader in the Grade centre in Blackboard course.... could you please help?
Thank you
Regards,
Rangika

Hello, I have the very same problem but the LMS is moodle in my case. Where can I setup the grader -> moodle grade passing in moodle?

There may be another cause for the error that you are seeing. I have a few questions for how you are using MATLAB Grader in two different Blackboard course views (Ultra vs. Original). Note that in our documentation for Ultra, we are explicit with settings the instructor must follow to enable grade post back for a MATLAB Grader based assignment. https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlabgrader/ug/add-problems-to-lms-course.html. However for Original, we do not explicitly state that when adding an assignment, under the section of settings titled, "Grading", the radio button for "Enable Evaluation" must be set to YES, and there must be a non zero number of "points possible" for the assignment.
1) Are you adding a MATLAB Grader based content item/assessment in two separate courses? one in Ultra and the other in Original? Or are you changing the view type of an existing Ultra course to Original, and accessing a previously configured MATLAB Grader assessment?
2) Have you added the MATLAB Grader assessment to the Original course and ensured that the evaluation settings were configured as described above?
Please provide screenshots of the Settings page for the assignment for the Original Course assessment item so that we can verify they are correct. I also believe that you may be working directly with Customer Support on this issue, so you can provide this information to our team that way. Other instructors that use MATLAB Grader may be experiencing a similar issue when switching between Ultra and Original views in Blackboard, so this may help them as well.

Hi Jeff,
Please accept my apologies for the delay in replying...
Yes, you are absolutely correct. I had not clicked on the Evaluation enabled under the Marking... I have now edited the test for Matlab Grader (Edit-> Marking -> Enable evaluation) and it is working as expected and i no longer see the error appear when clicking the Submit button (as a student) and can see the student's recorded mark appear in Grades Centre.
Thank you so very much for all your help! You're an absolute star!
Kind regards,
Rangika
