Collaborative work environment in app designer

I'm working as a member of the student association in a rather complicated project in app designer. We have a few people in the group that commit changes via git and we want to better organise our work. Is there a way so that we would not interrupt each other and could work smoother at the same time? Now we try to communicate whether to start working or wait if somebody had already started, but it does not always work - we usually work when we have time, not in scheduled hours. Maybe somebody has experience from the company how they solved the problem.

We are not working with App Designer but with GUI, and we have the same issue, there is np way to merge or rebase correctly different modifications. We end up designate a single person who can charge exclusively GUI the fig file and call-back interface.
