Why do some text parts of the MacOS MATLAB R2023b UI appear in Chinese language?

I am using a Mac 14.x (Sonoma) machine. Some Chinese text appears in parts of the UI, errors, and warnings in MATLAB R2023b. I have my local system language setting set to English but still Chinese text shows up. How do I change the UI text back to English?

This is a known issue with MacOS and MATLAB R2023b. It has also been reported on other operating systems.  Please refer to this Bug Report for more information, a workaround, and which releases resolve this issue:
