Cant install Matlab updates or toolboxes on fedora Linux

I use Matlab R2023b. I start the Matlab-GUI with a desktop-starter from a terminal.
When I want to install the Curve fitting toolbox with the addon manager, Matlab says that it will be installed and Matlab would restart after that. Then it seems like Matlab is downloading the addon. After this Matlab is automatically closed. But then, there is no automatic restart. And if I start Matlab manually, there is no installed Toolbox.
If I want to install an update it is the same behaviour.
Some details of my system, that might be helpfull:
OS: Fedora Linux 39
Installation folder1 of MATLAB (answer of Linux to "whereis matlab"): /usr/local/bin/matlab
Installation folder2 of MATLAB (answer of Matlab to "matlabroot"): /usr/local/MATLAB/R2023b
Installation folder for MATLAB Addons: /home/username/MATLAB Add-Ons

I´ve got a solution myself.
I start matlab as root from a terminal.
sudo matlab
Than it was possible to install the toolbox with the normal addon-manager.
(I think there must be a smarter solution, but it works for me.)
