Extrapolate average minimum and maximum values from a curve

Hello everyone,
I'm actually figuring out how to extrapolate form a curve values such as the average max and average min.
Let me explain: I have a topographic profile characterised by several points (x=horizontal distance, y=elevation). My objective is to extrapolate the avg-max (red line in image below) and avg-min values (yellow line in image below). Note that I don't need the absolute max and min values (ArcGIS already provides me these values as you can see from the image).

My idea was to find the bending points of the curve and use them as thresholds (i.e., the upper orange for max and lower one for mins) in order to calculate the mean but i'm sure there are more simple and fast methods to do that.
If you know to do it, please lemme know.

I think you'll need to explain what you mean by "average max" and "averge min". What ensemble is being averaged?

Finding a "bending point" may not be as trivial as you may think.
Please define what average max and average min mean. I would note that a quick search on my part did not expose any defintion for the term "average max" Effectively, you are using jargon that has no meaning without a definition. And what does it mean to you to "extrapolate" that max or min?
You provide no sample data, so it is difficult to help you by giving an example. Make it as easy as possible to get an answer, else you will potentially wait for a long time until someone is able to help you.
