How do I recover a .slx.original file (created after using autosave) to be an .slx file?

Hi William,
I understand that you want to recover your original ".SLX" Simulink model from a ".SLX.AUTOSAVE" file. To do this, you can either:
  • Remove the ".AUTOSAVE" suffix extension from the autosave file.
  • Double-click on the .slx.autosave file in the "Current Folder Pane" and click "Yes" when prompted with the message, "Do you want to open <<filename>> to restore the changes?"
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Vinayak

I am not talking about .slx.autosave, but .slx.original. I want to restore the original file after I "recovered" a corrupt autosave that made me lose data. However, MATLAB creates a file called X.slx.original after a recovery. I assumed this contained the data from the model before the restoration of the autosave. I already attempted to just remove ".original", but MATLAB would not let me open the file after that.
