Clutch system in a Simscape Multibody model
Mostrar comentarios más antiguos
I have a model of a clutch system in Simscape Multibody that will output a unidirectiona motion at the bevel gear 3. The input motion is the bidirectional motion from the main shaft. The bevel gear 1 only rotates in the positive rotation direction of the main shaft while the bevel gear 2 rotates only in the negative rotation direction of the main shaft. When gear 1 or 2 is not rotating with the main shaft it should be freely rotating with gear 3 as they are all meshed together. Please see attached schematic.
Right now, I could not get the system to work as described above, could you please help?

Do you have access to R2024b? The revolute joint (and many other) has an update that allow it to be locked. I imagine you can sense the velocity and torque to tell the tendency of motion and lock one of the two joints to make it unidirectional.
Another possibility I can think of is to use the unidirectional clutch in Simscape Driveline and couple that with your revolute joint via the rotational-multibody interface.
