How to Simulate a Cylindrical Dipole with a Physical Gap in MATLAB?

Hello everyone;
I am trying to simulate a simple cylindrical dipole antenna in MATLAB, similar to the one described in [https://www.mathworks.com/help/antenna/ref/dipolecylindrical.html ]. However, I want to include a small gap between the two arms to represent the real practical feed gap instead of assuming a continuous connection.
If I simply use a PEC (Perfect Electric Conductor) surface to connect them and place the feed on that surface, it effectively removes the impact of the gap, as it connects the edges of the dipole. This is not ideal since I want to observe the effect of the gap on the antenna's performance.
What is the correct way to model the gap while maintaining a realistic feed point? Should I any other method in MATLAB Antenna Toolbox?
Any suggestions or code examples would be greatly appreciated!
