I have installed MatLab and associated my academic license but when I try to open it I get the message 'Error 5201'. I have tried to solve it following the steps indicated in 'Help' - reinstall it, disable antivirus and firewall - but it doesn't work. According to MathWorks there are no activations: the installation is not associated to my account. However I have the application on my computer and the folder with all the corresponding files including the license and executables.
I don't know how to continue at this point.

Do exactly what it says to do in the FAQ: https://matlab.fandom.com/wiki/FAQ#After_installation,_MATLAB_crashes_or_gives_an_error_message_when_I_try_to_run_MATLAB.

Hey,
I notice that you are getting Error 5201 indicating that a MATLAB installation is not associated with your account. As per what I have seen, Error 5201 indicates that service host failed to start.
This answer from the forum might help fix your issue:
Additionally, for MacOS revoking and re-granting Full Disk Access permissions helps. i.e. if MATLAB has Full Disk Access, remove its Full Disk Access permissions and restart MATLAB. If this does not resolve the issue, you may grant MATLAB Full Disk Access again to see if this resolves the issue.
Hope it helped!
