Why am I unable to execute my standalone application with an error referring to "mclmcrrt9_4.dll"

Dear support,

I have an application which shows following message at launch: "Could not find version 9.4 of the MATLAB Runtime. Attempting to load mclmcrrt9_4.dll. Please install the correct version of MATLAB Runtime".

I went on that page MATLAB Runtime - MATLAB Compiler - MATLAB to find the version I need.

When lauching the exe file which I get from download, I see a small window indicating that some file extraction is being processed, then that window closes, and it seems nothing has happened. Nowwhere do I find any "v94" folder which I expect to have after all extraction is done. Could you support with this issue ?

Look in the c:\Program Files\MATLAB folder. If the run time library installation worked, you should see it in there.

Actually I can't see it. I just have other runtime versions (v95, v80) installed for other programes. But v94 won't be there after launching the MCR_R2018a_win64_installer.exe.

Then it didn't work. I think there are two versions of installers they have used. One is you donwload a self-extracting zip file that automatically runs the set up program. In the other I think you have to extract the files from the zip file yourself and run the setup.exe yourself. Make sure you extract it to a file and run it from there. Don't just try to run the setup from File Explorer when it's looking at the contents of the zip file.

If all that fails, call tech support and ask for free installation help.

I finally managed to get v94 in the MATLAB tree. Even the mentionned dll is there.

But launching my .exe still shows the initial error message that the dll could not be loaded...

Who wrote the executable that you're trying to run that needs that DLL?
