Will Matlab (Simulink) HDL coder support Altera Agilex 3 and 5 series device?
Because when I had seen from screens, that with Matlab v2025b, when Simulink is invoked and starting to configure and HDL configuration (trying to create a Custom Board), from the drop down menus, selecting Intel/Altera - only Agilex 7 series devices are mentioned/available for selection?

Support for Intel/Altera Agilex 3 and Agilex 5 devices is currently part of the future HDL Coder roadmap and is not yet available as out‑of‑the‑box support in R2025b. At present, the HDL Coder targeting workflows list Agilex 7 devices only.
For specific device requirements or customer use cases, please contact MathWorks Technical Support so the requests can be formally tracked. It is also recommended to review the R2026a pre‑release documentation, as it contains the most recent updates and roadmap progress.

HDL Coder device support is primarily driven by the versions of the vendor tools that MATLAB supports. You can find the full mapping here:
For R2026a, MATLAB added support for Quartus Pro 24.2, and that Quartus release includes Agilex5 support. Because of this, the basic HDL code generation workflow for Agilex5 devices works automatically once you install and configure the supported Quartus version. We don’t have to add extra device‑specific enablement for core HDL codegen as HDL Coder supports vendor independent but target optimized readable traceable RTL that would work with any synthesis tools.
Agilex3 support would follow the same pattern once a supported Quartus Pro version includes Agilex3 in its device database and MATLAB supports that Quartus release, HDL Coder can target those devices for standard code generation.
More advanced workflows such as full hardware/software co‑design, reference designs, board support packages, or turnkey deployment flows require additional engineering and are added separately based on prioritization and demand. Those would come later and are not automatically included with the basic tool‑version update. Please reach out to MathWorks technical support for additional information on this topic.
