BSoD while writing serial data and acquiring frames via grabber

Hello,

I need to autofocus a thermal camera which operates serially. My MATLAB program acquires a frame, processes it to find its "focus measure" and then rotates the lens clockwise or anticlockwise so that maximum value of focus measure is obtained. Most of the times the program works correctly and converges to the maxmimum focus point. But occasionally, BSoD appears during the execution of the program.

The following error appears upon restart:

The files mentioned (.dmp and .sysdata) above are attached. I don't know if the problem is in my MATLAB program or version or is this some drivers issue? Previously I was working on R2010a and now on R2012b. Both have the same issue.

I am running Windows 7 Professional with 4GB of RAM. The video grabber is Dazzle DVCr80. Can the problem be fixed by using Windows XP?
