How to use serial1, serial2 and serial3 ports on Arduino Mega for serial communication in an m code?

I'm using Arduino Mega to communicate with an external instrument through serial2 port (pin 16,17). This can be solved easily in Simulink as you can set the port number in Serial Transmit/Recieve blocks (I'm using Arduino support package). I wonder how can it be done in Matlab environment (m code)?
