What does version "v35" with lmutil mean?

THe Flexera License Manager "lmutil" does not give back the regular version of Matlab/Simulink. Instead it gives back '"Matlab" v35'. Does this mean Matlab R1015b?
How do I get the "real" version number without "computing" it?

Thanks for this. Is this information documented anywhere officially? I'm trying to find out what matlab versions are reported as v41 and v37 by lmutil. By extrapolation i guess these would be 2017a and 2019a but if there is an official record of this somewhere I'd like to know. Thanks.

Every year two versions, zo a wild guess:
2016b => v36
2017a => v37
2017b => v38
2018a => v39
2018b => v40
2019a => v41
2019b => v42
2020a => v43
2020b => v44
2021a => v45
2021b => v46
2022a => v47
2022b => v48
2023a => v49 (and this is what we current have).
2023b => v50
v35 MATLAB 8.X (R2016a - XX XXX 2016)
v34 MATLAB 8.6 (R2015b - 03 Sep 2015)
v33 MATLAB 8.5 (R2015a - 05 Mar 2015)

The vendor daemon MLM uses MATLAB version in an incrementing way. MLM 35 indeed is the current release R2016a, MLM 34 R2015b and so forth (at least for many years).
What is the goal of you are using lmutil to identidy the MATLAB release used?

Let me try to call you to discuss options. Ideally MathWorks works with the university computer center on a plan to allow using of new releases within a couple of days after the the release.
