Issues Opening and Saving Matlab files.

As of late, I have been having problems saving/opening my Matlab code. I have also noticed .asv files have been popping up in the folders where I am saving.
For instance, I created a script, saved it, and ran it. Matlab asked me to changed the file path or folder, did that. Same prompt over and over again.
I created a script, saved it as the default untitled, Matlab ran the script. I then changed the name of the script, and the same prompt showed up. Change file path or folder.
I am saving to the same location, whether it be hard drive or flash drive. I know the file is where I am telling Matlab to look.
Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all.

To check: you have exited and restarted MATLAB since the problem began? Have you checked to see whether there are extra MATLAB processes hanging around ?
