Parallel Pool error when using GA

I am running Matlab's GA with the fitness function coming from simulink, I had many errors with this and could not understand why it ran in Matlab 2012 but not 2015. finally I turned off the "Automatically create parallel pool" setting and this seems to have fixed my issue.

However I cannot guarantee other users with make this same adjustment, can I somehow take care of this in the script?
