I am trying to load a saved sound and keep getting this error message Unknown text on line number 1 of ASCII file MySpeech.wav "RIFFê".

It seems from the error message that your file is not a ‘.wav’ file but a text file. Upload it here (use the ‘paperclip’ icon). It may be necessary to read it as a text file, then convert it to a sound file, and save it correctly.
