conn = yahoo fails, why?

it used to work last week, now the same code fails with a connection error, "Unable to connect or retrieve data from given URL". I tried a bunch of URL's, didn't find one that worked. So what's going on?

Sorry no answer from me - I have the same problem. Did work until Thursday evening, then suddenly stopped working. Also need help.

I have the same problem for last couple of days. c = yahoo fails to establish a connection with yahoo servers. it looks that yahoo servers are shot down. I hope it is not permanent.

what is odd is that you could use the url to download the data manually. If the serve is shut down, manual download would not work?
