I use Matlab for signal processing. I have a workstation for heavy duty processing but would like to use a netbook for debugging while on the road. Anyone willing to offer a recommendation based on Matlab R2017a and current netbook capability?

Sorry, Eugene, it is hard to suggest a netbook without posting commercials, which are not accepted here due to the terms of use.
A netbook can either tiny, to optimize the weight and size for traveling, or fast. You can spend 200$ for a 2 Core/4GB RAM/Win 10 machine, or 2000$ for more power and convenience. If "debugging" means, that you want to run the full data set, which is thought for a "heavy duty workstation", you might wait some weeks until the processing is ready.
I would not buy a machine with less than 64 GB disk (preferably SSD) and 4GB RAM. I need a non-glossy display. Decide if you need a machine lighter than 1kg or a powerful processor which requires an active cooling.
Note that an efficiently written code runs faster on a modern cheap netbook than some ugly code (forgotton pre-allocation, dynamic creation of variables by eval, flaws in the structering of data, ...) on a mainframe super computer.
Cheap machines are designed for a short life time. There are some cheaper versions of the business lines, which profit from the same chassis and stability as the expensive machines.
If these arguments are considered, it does not matter if you buy a Mfopwp, IQ, Bdfs, Btvt or Doll machine, in my opinion. (I apologize for all other names I did not avoid to mention.)
Well, good luck :-)

Thanks Jan, I appreciate your help. I should have clarified I wasn't looking for brands but I was looking for advice on the lines of; 64bit OS, Minimum RAM, Minimum processor spec/speed, and any advice on best graphics card capability. Even for debugging I am probably looking at 100GB of data to signal process Disc capacity possibly needs to be 500 GB to allow for operating systems and other software. I'm trying to get the most from my mid-range budget by making the right spec choices. My bad for not asking a clear question.
