different lcdata.xml per user

So I am having this problem that Matlab does not support unicode characters since 2017a in my m-files. I found this solution here: unicode characters in m-files

Unfortunately we are working on a shared workstation and I do not have access to the lcdata.xml-file (administrative privileges etc). Since I do not want to mess around with my coworkers' Matlab experience: is it possible to change the lcdata.xml-file for each user, e.g. somewhere in the AppData folder?
