How do I calculate mean for daily precipitation data?

Hello, I am new to MATLAB. I have data on precipitation (per day) for winter 1950-2012. I want to calculate the mean of each winter season per year (1950-2012) and then plot it. I am not sure how to do that or what code I have to use. Your help is greatly appreciated.

This depends entirely on how your data is structured.
Have a read here and here. It will greatly improve your chances of getting an answer.
