install a newer version of matlab, 2013 and more, will it be a problem?

I created my whole work, .m and .fig files using r2011a. if I install a newer version of matlab, 2013 and more, will it be a problem? ? will my programs work fine or not?? thanks

You might have problems, depending what you did.
Please visit https://www.mathworks.com/help/matlab/release-notes.html?rntext=&startrelease=R2011a&endrelease=R2013b&groupby=release&sortby=descending&searchHighlight= and pay attention to all of the yellow "incompatibility" markings.

R2011a Student was only available in 32 bit. Going from 32 bit to 64 bit has some incompatibilities, especially with regards to the Data Acquisition Toolbox, but also with regards to accessing the parallel ports (which, really, was more about pre-XP to post-XP as that had to do with operating system changes.)
