fitting multi-exponential decays to data collected in logarithmic bins

Processes with multiple decay rate constants that are spread over several orders of magnitude are most conveniently depicted as histograms with logarithmic bins with on the y-axis either linear or square root amplitudes. How now to fit such histograms to a multi exponential function ? Thanks for any help !

After displaying your histogram, the y-axis can be changed to logarithmic scale through this command

set(gca,'YScale','log')
