How can I introduce a variable resistance in simulink ?

In my simulation I need to discharge a battery by introducing a variable resistor in matlab Simulink, the values of this resistor are declared by: ‘’ from workspace’’ bloc. I tested the variable resistor from Simscape, but we can not connect it with a block from workspace. Thanks for helping.

Can you share your model and all necessary variables?
this is my model. On the one hand, the PV allows to charge the battery, on the other hand, I want to introduce a profile of the real load which allows to distcharge the battery.

we can not connect this component with 'from workspace' bloc. The idea is to vary the resistance according to a real load variation that I have in excel format. The load which I have is a ventilator, the speed varies according to a feedback.
Hi, could please tell me how can I make the connection between the real load and the variable resistors? what is the best way to implement this?
