char to binary converting

I have this Char. I need to apply binary symmetric channel on it. So these chars must be binary. How Can I convert them ?

bin2dec(string) will convert your string to a decimal equivalent. The underlying representation of the decimal number will be binary, but if you need an actual series of 1's and zero's then decimalToBinaryVector(decimalNumber) will convert the decimal to a binary vector, but note that that this will be a vector not a contiguous string of binary digits
