HOW TO READ ONLY SOME IMAGE FROM A FOLDER ?

Hi everyone! I'm trying to read the images that are saved in a folder and I was wondering if there was a way to read only the images I want.

I tried this:

cd(folder);
filePattern = fullfile(folder, '*.jpg');
jpegFiles = dir(filePattern);
ImmaginiGenerate= {jpegFiles.name} ;
warning off
montage( ImmaginiGenerate )

but it reads all the images in the folder, and not just those that interest me. Then I wanted to know if I could match image and corresponding name.

How many Images in the folder?

And what defines the images that "interest you"? Like files that begin with some certain letter or letter pattern?
