Need help in Face recognition (Eigen face method)

I have wrote a code that implements the eigen faces method for face recognition (as in Pentland and Turk).I have worked out almost all steps but i have no idea how to reject non face images.Tried the method in 'Pentland and Turk' i.e,calculating the distance between the mean adjusted test image and its projection on to the face space, but couldn't make it work!!please help!!
