Robust method against Salt and pepper noise

When we embed some data in an image, and add salt and pepper noise to the image. Then, even we remove the noise also it is still difficult to retrieve the exact original image. Then, can we say all the methods are exposed to salt and pepper noise or what..Kindly someone explain me...How do we check for robustness of any method to salt and pepper noise.
