Matlab read/write excel

this is the code:

instead of typing the excel numbers individually : "y = [0,30,680,7,55,7,88,9,53,34,56,21,45,66,44,22,1,34,45,56,32];"

how do i get excel to read and write these from the spreadsheet, i just want the y values.

I want this data in: Sheet2, Teaching institution type (AP), Category (Asian or Asian British)

I want to present "the percentage for that institution type".
