This line/bar does not let me use the whole window for scripting. whenever my code reaches that line shown, code automatically goes to the next line.

From the Command Window:
MATLAB --> Preferences --> Editor/Debugger --> Display
Increase the right-hand text limit.

That controls where the line is drawn, but does not control the point at which entry automatically goes to the next line.

That only applies to comments, not to commands. But to turn it off, use Preferences -> Editor/Debugger -> Language, and turn off "Wrap comments automatically while typing"

The answers seemed a little incomplete, so for anyone else wondering you can move/ disable the line via:
Preferences -> Editor/Debugger -> Display -> Right-hand text limit
Once here you can remove the line entirely (I think that'll stop auto-wrapping of non-comments entirely) or change the column limit.
For some reason, this setting doesn't seem to apply to comments. To change the num of columns comments can span, you go to:
Preferences -> Editor/Debugger -> Language -> Comment formatting
Similarly, once there you can stop comments from wrapping entirely, change the column limit & dictate whether the limit starts from the beginning of the comment, or the line the comment it on itself.

Thanks for following up here.
The wrapping function doesn't seems to work for comments, I have to hit enter to get it to wrap down, and sometimes it automatically creates a % to keep it a comment, sometimes not...
