Retinal vessel thinning method

Hello Everyone, i would like to extract the main vessels of the retinal vascular tree without their branches. After applying the bwmorph function on my binary image, i get a skeleton which is not perfect. Am not sure i got the one pixel wide skeleton. How can i get a perfect skeleton? here are my binary image and the skeleton i got. Thanks
