How to stitch multiple images together to create a single image?

Hello, I am new to image processing and wondering how to stitch images together. What would be the best way to go about creating a code that is able to do this? I am looking for something that is able to stitch many images together or a variation of images (1-100 images).

For example, if you take multiple images of let's say, a building. If you want to combine all the photos together to get a single image of the building, that is called stitching. The best example for image processing for stitching, is the "panorama" technology in the IPhone. It takes multiple images as you pan across the desired image and immediately stitches them together. Hope that makes sense!
