issue getting matlab to work

hi I installed and activated Matlab on my laptop (which meets all the system requierments) and when i click the shortcut created on my desktop the program doesn't launch but instead the activation window opens. I tried activating my account again but the situation doesn't change, does anyone know how to solve this problem? I already tried re-installing and downloading again several times. Thanks in advance.

Are you using Run As Administrator for the activation step?

hi, thanks for the answer, what do you mean by run as administrator? I simply click the Matlab shortcut and follow the activation steps, now I am getting a -9 error...

If the issue still persists, you can contact your sales representative to get detailed understanding about your license terms. If you don't know who your sales representative is, MathWorks support can help you find your sales representative: https://www.mathworks.com/support/contact_us.html

This is rarely a license terms issue. It is much more likely to be a file permissions issue.
