What is the difference between wrcoef/upcoef/appcoef in wavelet analysis?

Hi,

Currently I am doing wavelet analysis on a signal. My purpose is to reconstruct the signal on a certain level. However, I found couple of functions, i.e., wrcoef/upcoef/appcoef can seemingly do the trick. So I am confused what's their difference, and which one I should use?

If your purpose is solely reconstructing the signal on a certain level use any of the two wrcoef/appcoef. If you want some other specific behaviour please go through the documentation links below and see what suits your needs.
