Hi,
You can import 3D files with the following formats without needing the software used to create 3D model files: 'fbx', 'dae', 'sdf', 'stl', 'urdf'. 'vrimport' function can be used for this purpose.
To import Solidworks files into Simscape Multibody, you need Solidworks software installed along with Simscape Multibody Link plug-in. Refer this link to install Simscape Multibody Link Plug-In.
For more information on how to export a Solidworks model, you can refer: https://www.mathworks.com/help/physmod/smlink/ug/export-robot-assembly-from-solidworks-software.html
Hope this helps.
