Having trouble charging battery using controlled voltage source

Hello!

I've been trying to simulate a battery charging using controlled voltage source, using the battery model provided by simscape (command is 'ssc_lithium_cell_1RC'). However, I am getting negative current pulses, which have ridiculously large values. Also the simulation is terribly slow. I have attached the simulink file for reference.

I would use a Controlled Current Source instead to charge the battery. See this simple Simscape Electrical example showing how to charge/discharge a battery:
