I am simulating a Mechanical DC circuit breaker. I used a step to put on and off. I wanted to use a "compare to constant" block so that when the fault current goes over the threshold the ideal switch can trip. The step is connected to the ideal switch so I cannot connect a relay too. Any help will be much appreciated. Thanks

I am using a book called High Voltage Direct Current Transmission converters, systems and DC Grids 2nd edition by Dragan Jovcic. https://www.wiley.com/en-gb/High+Voltage+Direct+Current+Transmission%3A+Converters%2C+Systems+and+DC+Grids%2C+2nd+Edition-p-9781119566618.

Hi,
I'm working on simulating a DC circuit breaking in Simulink and I'm still looking for a method to do that.
I really appreciate it if you could provide me any information regarding this simulation.
Thank you.

Hello,
You can connect the relay output as the gate signal to the ideal switch and check if you are getting the expected output. Also add a powergui block to your model.
You can also refer to these links for implementing relays and circuit breakers:
  1. Relays
  2. Switches and Breakers
Hope it helps.
