Sharing .mat file for DAG network

I am sharing a .mat file containing a DAG network for the purpose of using a pretrained network within a stand-alone app. When I share the .mat file with a windows user (I use a Mac), the DAG network shows up empty with no layers and connections. Therefore, the standalone app will not work. Is there a simple solution to this?
