Dear Support,
What is the yearly uptime or percent uptime for the Thingspeak server? Is there any guarantee on uptime?
All Thingspeak channels from different Internet WANs stopped updating on the Thingspeak server (184.106.153.149) this morning, Jul 17 from 7:25-8:46 am GMT -0700
I'm fairly confident this is a Thingspeak service issue. Is there a way to get a notice from Thingspeak if they are expecting downtime or a server reboot, etc?
As a side note, the remote channels use a fixed Thingspeak server IP of 184.106.153.149 , to avoid extra uncessary IoT data usage for continuously resolving the same Thingspeak DHCP.
Thanks.

The Application Status page indicates ThingSpeak is operating normally, and the most recent event in the Incident History that mentions ThingSpeak was reported on June 24th.
As that page says, if you're experiencing an outage that's not listed please contact Technical Support via a support request. You can do so from the link on the Application Status page or via the telephone icon in the upper-right corner of this page.

The ThingSpeak team has a very high standard for uptime for API servers. Our releases are planned keeping in mind having zero downtime and with multi-level redundancies in place to prevent any data loss. We also try our best to ensure that any backward incompatibilities or compatibility considerations are clearly communicated in the release notes.
Given that the data coming from your devices to ThingSpeak servers traverses infrastructure from your network, public TCP/IP networks and MathWorks managed infrastructure, there are many points where things could go wrong. These are not always in your control or MathWorks' for either of us to be able to monitor or report.
So, coming to the question at hand -- does ThingSpeak provide a way to warn you if your channel stops collecting data?
You can set up a "No Data Check" React app that can send you an email if your channel is not updated. We use this and other external systems to monitor ThingSpeak.
Here's a public channel for one of our users who has been collecting data on ThingSpeak for a while that shows no interruptions today.
EDIT: It appears cloudflare had a DNS outage on 07/17. It is possible that intermediate infrastructure outside of MathWorks control was impacted that might have resulted in connectivity issues for some devices. We do know that ThingSpeak servers were functioning normally during this time.
BTW, the static IP adds a layer of indirection compared to sending data to api.thingspeak.com. You can reduce the number of hops the data has to make by directly go to api.thingspeak.com. I would strongly recommend going to the API server instead of the static IP.
