How do I load an array of data from excel into my GUI?

I have made a GUI which uses manually entered values in edit boxes to run .As there are many values to be entered, it is tedious. So, I need an option (probably a pushbutton) which when clicked, asks the filename and location of the excel file and loads data from it.The GUI uses this data to run.How do I go about doing this?

• Create a button, whose callback...
• ...opens a window to choose a file by uigetfile.
• Then run xlsread to import the contents.

An alternative could be a uitable or inputdlg.
