How can I check what is the actual measurement being done by 'MinorAxisLength' using 'regionprops' command?

I would like to know along what path on my input image the minor axis is being considered? How could I check this.

I am ctually trying to measure the width of segmented cardiac chambers.

If the chambers extracted are not horizontal and are aligned at a particular angle or the chambers extracted are skewed I would like to check what eactly is the 'Minor axis' being measured when I use 'MinorAxisLength' parameter in regionprops command since the length obtained does not coincide with the manual measurements i make using imtool.

Any assistance in this matter would be gratly appreciated.
